Jazz Quintet’s project combines folk music from different parts of the world with jazz. The band consists of students or alumni of jazz and popular music programmes, including  Szymon Chołomiej (accordion), Weronika Fedor (violin), Michał Fedor (bass guitar), Maciej Guzik (drums), Paweł Chaberski (piano) . The band’s mission is to promote improvised music and showcase the musical values of the accordion and violin, which are essential components of traditional music. The accompanying rhythm section brings everything together into a cohesive whole. Traditional folk music is known for its open form and rhythmic divisions, which are similar to those found in jazz. In this project, folk melodies are presented in original arrangements that also incorporate various other musical styles such as bossa nova, swing, or funk. The band members are highly skilled improvisers and have significant artistic accomplishments in their portfolios.
