19:00–20:00 “Towards Abstraction” – Creating small oil pastel paintings.
Instructor: Krystyna Rakowska. Number of participants: 6, age: 16 and up.
19:00 – 21:15 | “Lublin” – Sepia Watercolor. Painting demonstration and workshop
The workshop, featuring a demonstration of painting a part of our beautiful city, ties in with the ongoing exhibition “Lublin in Painting” at “Przy Bramie”. Gallery. The session will be led by Wiesław Stefański, a renowned Lublin watercolorist. The workshop will begin with a 30-minute demonstration. Each participant will create a sepia watercolor painting.

21:30 – 23:30 “Neurons – Abstraction and Mixed Media in Watercolor”
Painting demonstration and workshop
This workshop dives into the exciting world of mixed media watercolours. We’ll explore how watercolors react with a variety of materials, from everyday items like salt, coffee, and juice to artistic tools like charcoal, pencils, and metallic elements. You’ll experiment with different techniques to create unique effects, then put your newfound skills to the test by crafting a piece featuring neuron motifs.

20:30 – 21:30 “Alleyways of Memory” – Creating Analogue Collage
In this workshop, you’ll learn the art of collage creation, either individually or by teaming up with a partner. We’ll provide a variety of materials with different textures and structures to spark your imagination and create a one-of-a-kind piece, such as: photo prints, paper, cardboard, and fabrics. This workshop goes beyond just visuals. We’ll encourage you to use touch and other senses to enhance your creative experience. Your collage will revolve around vignettes of memories. Think silhouettes of famous writers, poets, and photographers who’ve left their mark on our city. Let their works inspire you to reflect on the unique connection between artists and our urban landscape. For inspiration, consider figures like Isaac Singer, Józef Czechowicz, Julia Hartwig, and Edward Hartwig.

This workshop will equip you with the fundamental skills to explore the world of watercolors. We’ll delve into techniques like “wet-on-wet” and “wet-on-dry,” guiding you through proper colour application for beautiful results.
By the end, you’ll put your newfound knowledge to the test by crafting a unique bookmark featuring intricate neuron designs. Take your creation home as a reminder of your artistic journey!
