Stompin’ in Lublin – a concert by LSAM MAKI, Sławniacy Folk Ensemble, The Song and Dance Ensemble of Lublin University of Technology
About
Get ready for joyous and inclusive dances and songs, rooted in tradition, folk, and sometimes national themes.
As the musicians eloquently state, “We do not create anything beautiful; we reveal what is authentic, truly beautiful, so that it can be truly experienced, not just observed in a museum.”
SŁAWINIACY’s artistic achievements are a testament to their dedication and talent. They have graced the silver screen with their performance in the film “Chopin – Desire for Love,” represented the Lublin region at the presidential harvest festival in Spala, and produced captivating performances for TVP1 and TVP3. Their musical repertoire is a treasure trove of Polish folk gems, spanning a wide range of genres. Their four albums, “Śpiwumy, śpiwumy,” “Pieśni patriotyczne, kolędy i pastorałki,” “MAKI – SŁAWINIACY – pieśni nasze,” and “Lubelskie kolędy i pastorałki,” showcase their versatility and mastery of Polish folk music.
SŁAWINIACY’s dedication to their community has not gone unnoticed. In recognition of their efforts to promote integration, intergenerational connections, and support for seniors, the ensemble has received the medal commemorating the 700th anniversary of the foundation of Lublin and the Lublin Union Medal from the hands of Lublin City Mayor, Dr. Krzysztof Żuk.
