About the event<\/h2>\n

Over 700 fish made by people of all ages \u201cswam\u201d to the Workshops of Culture as part of Mission: Fish. Among the works were both tiny, just a few-centimetre-long fish, and impressive, over one-metre-long constructions made from the most surprising materials. All of them will form a special installation presented during this year\u2019s edition of Night of Culture (June 6\/7, Stare Miasto). You can still join the fun. Organizers are waiting for your works until Friday, May 29.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ongoing since February Mission: Fish has turned out to be one of the most engaging activities in the history of all editions of Night of Culture. Over 700 original fish created by preschoolers, students, artists, private individuals, groups of friends, cultural centers, and senior clubs have already arrived at the Workshops of Culture.<\/p>\n

Among the delivered and submitted works were over 20 giant, nearly one-metre-long fish and more than 60 miniature fish, no larger than 5 centimetres. The creators used a wide variety of materials \u2014 wood, strings, styrofoam, fabrics, paper, metal, and even ammunition casings or metal files. The organizers received both single fish and entire schools of fish.<\/p>\n

The works came not only from Lublin but also from many places across Poland, including Krak\u00f3w, Wroc\u0142aw, Bia\u0142ystok, areas around Malbork, and \u0141\u00f3d\u017a. Some even \u201cswam\u201d to the Workshops of Culture all the way from Canada.<\/p>\n

The scale of this project completely surprised us. We knew that residents like the Night of Culture and are eager to engage in collective activities, but we did not expect such creativity and diversity. Every fish is different. It is extremely moving to see how many people wanted to become part of our festival<\/em>, says Joanna Wawi\u00f3rka-Kamieniecka, director of the Night of Culture.<\/p>\n

Until May 29, you can still join the project and become its co-creator. Every fish will become part of a shared installation that can be admired on June 6 during the Night of Culture at the Rybny Square. There will also be a fisherman\u2019s hut there, where the fisherman will gladly help you find your work. In addition, on site you will be able to leave an entry in the ship\u2019s logbook and use a fish-themed stamp.<\/p>\n

Every day, on the Facebook event<\/strong><\/a> and Instagram stories<\/strong><\/a>, you can see extraordinary fish specimens that have already reached their destination. It is worth checking them out and seeing what others are creating.<\/p>\n

About Night of Culture<\/h2>\n

Night of Culture<\/strong><\/a> consists of hundreds of free artistic events scattered across Lublin\u2019s public spaces. Thousands of smiling people are walking through the streets in search of unforgettable experiences. It is the only night of the year when the impossible becomes possible.<\/p>\n

The city is packed with concerts, light installations, performances, shows, workshops, and many other events that defy easy definition. Participants can experience a concentrated package of adventures and cultural impressions packed into seven hours. It is entirely up to them whether they’ll spend the night at wild concerts and performances or more intimate literary meetings.<\/p>\n

Through installations in public space, the Night of Culture transforms entire streets beyond recognition. It is a time when you can smell gateways, stroke furry walls, or peek through keyholes into fantastical worlds. Before going out, it is essential to fully charge your camera battery.<\/p>\n
