About

A glimpse into the inner world of a Highly Sensitive Person

That same harsh sound every morning. “Open your eyes!” I do.
My body protests — it already knows what’s ahead.
“Just a moment longer,” I whisper to myself, even though I know it won’t change a thing.

The everyday reality of a highly sensitive person.
A tangle of thoughts and experiences.

This poetic dance performance offers a glimpse into the inner landscape of a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) — someone who feels everything a bit more deeply. Based on a personality trait defined by psychologists Elaine and Arthur Aron in the 1990s, HSPs are not fragile — just more attuned to emotion, sensation, and the subtle layers of experience.
Elaine Aron’s influential book on the subject, “The Highly Sensitive Person,” was published in 1996 and played a significant role in bringing this concept to wider awareness.

It’s important to understand that being an HSP is not an illness or a disorder. Rather, it describes individuals who process and experience both external and internal stimuli more deeply and intensely than the majority of the population.

They process more. Feel more. Notice more.

Additionally, HSPs often exhibit differential susceptibility, meaning they are more strongly influenced by their environment, whether positive or negative, than non-HSPs.

This piece explores overstimulation, emotional overwhelm, and the quiet resilience of those who live with heightened perception. Around 15–20% of people fall into this group — maybe you do too.
