Plecotus, the tower sleeper | an installation by Pop-ek Art – Aldona Popek

About

A nocturnal mammal in size XXL. The artist has designed and hand-stitched a giant bat who intends to sleep through the entire Night of Culture within the silent walls of a Gothic tower.

In Poland, bats are quiet city dwellers, finding sanctuary in hollow trees, attics, and forgotten basements. Their mysterious habits and vital role in the ecosystem make them a hidden pillar of our natural world. This oversized guest serves as a soft, whimsical reminder of our need to protect these essential creatures. While the city celebrates, he rests—perched where history meets the night.
