Dusk to Dawn: A Birdwatching Soundwalk in Słowacki Estate | Inicjatywa Twórcza Sfery Kultury | REGISTRATION
About
Join us for a soundwalk through the Juliusz Słowacki housing estate. Designed by legendary architects Zofia and Oskar Hansen, this neighbourhood was envisioned as a “garden estate”—a sanctuary of green recreation spaces and flower gardens where tree canopies provide a home for the city’s birds.
During the walk, we’ll explore how these green spaces actually function today. What brings peace to these streets, and what disrupts it? Most importantly, which birds sing amidst the urban noise, and which species held a special place in the hearts of the architects themselves? We will uncover the answers through a blend of live exploration and sound elements.
