Night of Culture 2026 | Must-see events
About
Rap concerts and freestyle battles, monumental installations, dreamlike visions, an underwater world of fish, a giant bat, or perhaps an orchestra of giant drums? On the night of June 6–7, Lublin will once again transform into a vibrant, art-filled space brimming with surprises and fairy-tale settings. From among the hundreds of events featured in the Night of Culture program, we have selected those that are especially worth seeing.
RAP STAGE | 19.00-2.00 | PERŁA BREWERY, BERNARDYŃSKA 15
Get ready for a true rollercoaster of rap sounds in the industrial setting of Perła Brewery! One of the highlights of this year’s Night of Culture will be the highly anticipated and unique concert by Kosma Król, while Vin Vinci will bring incredible energy and hard-hitting verses to the stage. Representatives of the younger generation and fresh winners of the Young Rap competition will also perform: Bednar, Cuba Jay, Milky.wav, Młody Cud, M02M, RaV, Wencik, and WKTR & Raby. They will be followed by the out-of-this-world Dobre Flow collective, and the night will culminate in a grand finale led by Kamil Dankiewicz alongside DJ Prosper.
BATTLE FOR THE NIGHT PEARL | 21.00-22.30 | PERŁA BREWERY, BERNARDYŃSKA 15
An absolute novelty of this year’s edition! In the dark, gritty atmosphere of the festival’s metal hall, a bloody (but only in words!) freestyle battle will take place. Six of the best freestyle rappers, selected through fierce qualifying rounds held in May, will go head-to-head in a contest for the prestigious title of Pearl of the Night and a cash prize of PLN 3,000, sponsored by the event’s title partner, Perła – Browary Lubelskie S.A. Who will claim the crown? You have to be there and experience it live!
LITEWSKI STAGE | 19.00-00.45 | LITEWSKI SQUARE
Experience a spectacular arts marathon in the very heart of the city! Enjoy the intergenerational dance show Faces of Dance by the PRIMA Leszek Gęca group and the lively folk concert On a Folk Note performed by the Folk Music Ensemble “Lubelacy”. Let yourself be swept away by the musical energy of students from Fatum Theatre (Chatka Żaka Culture and Media Centre at UMCS), then marvel at a spectacular multimedia fountain show. You’ll also be captivated by breathtaking roller-skating performances: the fairy-tale spectacle Chasing the White Rabbit by the As Lublin club and a cinematic journey through time presented by UKŁF Salchow Lublin. The evening will culminate in the powerful and emotionally charged dance performance presSURE / I, created by the talented artists of the WW Dance school.
PLECTOUS | 19.00-2.00 | THE GOTHIC TOWER, KRÓLEWSKA 8
Who said everyone would be partying that night? Meet Gacek—a giant XXL-sized bat designed and sewn by Aldona Popek. This extraordinary, monumental resident has decided to sleep right through all the festival excitement, hanging proudly from the ceiling of a historic Gothic tower in a rather demonstrative display of indifference to the festivities below.
MOLAR MATRIX | 19.00-2.00 | THE GOTHIC TOWER, KRÓLEWSKA 8
This intriguing abstract composition features oversized teeth in surprising shapes and sizes. Familiar forms, removed from their natural context, come together to create a structure that immediately captures attention. This unique installation was created by students of the Figure and Form Sculpture Research Group at the Faculty of Arts of UMCS, under the supervision of Dr. R. Skóra.
TOUCH THE LEGEND | 19.00-0.00 | TRYBUNAŁ KORONNY
On this one night of the year, a legend becomes more than just a story—it becomes something you can truly experience. Amid the bustle of the city, Franciszek Goszczyński has hidden a quiet sign, as if lifted straight from the tales of the past. The remarkable installation Touch of the Legend reveals none of its secrets until you dare to come closer. All it takes is a simple touch of the structure to encounter something no chronicle has ever described.
UROBOROS | 19.00-2.00 | RYNEK 9
Before you stands the culmination of a mesmerizing series! Following the spectacular installations Heroines and Death Is Not the End Yet, acclaimed artist Jarosław Koziara presents the third and final part of his triptych. Prepare to be immersed in a striking wave of sensual red—as this time, the space will be taken over by poppies. This is something you simply have to see.
FISH AT NIGHT OF CULTURE | 19.00-2.00 | RYBNY SQUARE
The gateway to this underwater world will be the Fish Gate, decorated by students of the Faculty of Arts under the direction of J. Koziara. Just beyond it, visitors will encounter the textile installation “Beneath the surface” by W. Stafińska, inspired by aquatic flora and fauna. A few steps further, you can admire M. Levchenko’s mural Applied Ichthyology and the colourful fish puppets featured in the outdoor performances of Makata Theatre. In Hartwigs’ Alley, an openwork ceramic sculpture titled The Luminous Fish by J. Kowalska-Wolszczak will stand on the wall. Flowing downward will be the Wicker Shoal, woven by K. Karpińska, J. Bęczyńska, and B. Adamek, while fish created by students of the UMCS Faculty of Arts under the supervision of B. Niścior will appear to swim upstream. The entire experience will be brought together by the Mission: Fish! project, completing this immersive celebration of the underwater world.
THE EYE OF THE NEEDLE | 19.00-2.00 | KU FARZE GATE
Ku Farze Street is one of the most charming and narrowest spots in the Old Town. It inspired Monika Trypuz, who spent many weeks weaving a monumental, nine-meter-long artwork. The installation will create a mystical gate within a gate—a passage within a passage. Will you dare to walk straight through the center of the Eye of the Needle, or will you prefer to avoid it? The choice and interpretation are entirely yours!
THUNDER OF THE EARTH | 19.00-0.00 | PO FARZE SQUARE
Feel the primal energy and powerful rhythm that will shake the city! See with your own eyes a unique, one-of-a-kind multi-membrane drum structure—the only such construction in the world—which also serves as a monumental stage set. The evening will begin with interactive workshops where you can become part of the orchestra yourself! Grand Finale: At 10:00 p.m., let yourself be carried away by a hypnotic, powerful closing concert that will stay in your memory for a long time.
Authors: Teatr Makata
DREAMS – FRAGMENTS OF THE SUBCONSCIOUS | 19.00-0.00 | GRODZKA 7 – PATIO
For this one exceptional night, the atmospheric patio will turn into a portal to another dimension. Ola Artyszuk has created a surreal space that will allow you to literally step inside the artist’s dream. Cross the boundary between waking life and the subconscious, let yourself be captivated by the oneiric atmosphere, and capture the moment in an unforgettable souvenir photograph!
FALSE BOTTOM | 19.00-2.00 | GRODZKA 5A – GATE
During the Night of Culture, even an ordinary tenement corridor can become a work of art! Thanks to Martyna Tysi Denis and Lena Jungowska, the installation Double Bottom will transform the gateway beyond recognition. It is an extraordinary artistic tribute to the mysterious world of seaweed and delicate water lilies. Let yourself be surprised by the transformation of this place!
VERITAS LEMON | 19.00-2.00 | ARCHIDIAKOŃSKA 1 – GATE
Veritas is Latin for truth, honesty, and reality. And Veritas Lemon? It’s a brilliant and refreshing flirt with your senses! Step right into an installation made of hundreds of juicy, living lemons and take on the challenge: among the real fruit, a few perfectly crafted ceramic replicas have been hidden. Will you take the challenge? See if you can be fooled!
