Night of Culture 2023 | Want to know where Michał, the IT specialist, is headed? Check out his Night of Culture choices!
It’s Night of Culture this weekend (June 3/4)! What plans does Michał (44 years old), an IT specialist from Lublin, have for this special night? Which Night of Culture points are on his list?
Michał, who is 44 years old, is one of the three winners of the “Show us your Night of Culture route” competition. He works with IT system implementations and also writes for the monthly magazine, Pismo. In his free time, he enjoys reading books, listening to rock music, and taking walks in the forest. Michał is a big fan of Night of Culture, having already attended 10 editions of the festival!
For years now, me and my family have been hitting up Night of Culture. It’s a blast! This includes my wife, Magda, who’s a teacher, and our two awesome kids – Zuzanna, who even volunteered at one of the past editions, and Kajtek. Oh, and we usually bring along some friends too. I’ve checked the programme and picked out activities that I think will be fun for all of us. I’m stoked about catching a killer concert at Rider’s Pub, while Magda prefers dance performances. Zuzanna’s into theatre ’cause she used to perform in the school theatre at High School no. 3. And Kajtek, well, he’s all into the scientific stuff. Together, we will explore all the mind-blowing visual arts together and even join in on the city game game”, says Michał.
MICHAŁ’S SELECTION OF NIGHT OF CULTURE ATTRACTIONS:
Light – Ola Artyszuk’s installation
“Light” is a spatial installation made of hundreds of recycled plastic bottles, serving as an object to look at but also contemplate. It symbolises rebirth and transformation, as each bottle was once considered worthless, but has gained new life thanks to recycling and creativity. This installation reminds us of our own potential for positive impact on the world, even when we feel unappreciated or worthless. It inspires us to find the courage to connect the dots in our own unique way and turn seemingly useless things into beauty and value.
