Night of Culture, which takes place on the 3rd and 4th of June, is just a few days away. Yana, a 22-year-old student from Lublin, is eagerly anticipating the event. How will she spend it? What does she plan to see? Curious? Check it out!
Yana is the last winner of the contest “Show us your Night of Culture route”. She studies and works in Lublin. She is excited to experience the cultural events and the festival’s atmosphere for the first time. Yana will be attending the festival with her friends.
She says, “I would like to see everything because it’s my first time! I realise it might be impossible, so I made my ‘must-see’ list. At 7:00 PM, I’ll be going to see the play “Moriah”, then I’ll stroll through the streets of the Old Town to take photos of the most interesting installations. With my friends, we’ll definitely visit the Night Parquet at Lubartowska street. I can’t wait to experience Night of Culture and I’m really looking forward to Saturday,” Yana says.

Postapocalypse – exhibition of Stasys Eidrigevicius’ paintings | Wirydarz Art Gallery, Grodzka 19
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the mask to the forefront, concealing both beauty and ugliness, youth and old age, making people look alike. The mask has taken precedence, pushing the individual into the background. For example, a chamber ensemble concert recorded two years ago was recently televised, featuring musicians wearing masks, leaving only the music to be appreciated while observing the masks. In the exhibition “Postapocalypse,” the mask commands attention, imbued with a spiritual essence, much like a face on a mask. I presented a similar concept in my exhibition titled “Face on the Mask” (“Veidas ant kaukes”) at the Lithuanian National Art Gallery in Vilnius back in 2011. As people fade away, the mask endures. I immortalise it, attributing significance and context to its presence.
